Sales is stand-up comedy - without a 2-drink Minimum
Make them Laugh, Drive connection & engagment
Prospects are people, not metrics.
I use my backgrounds in sales & stand-up comedy to show sales teams how humor helps customer-facing employees better relate, connect, and increase engagement.
My fun, practical, team-building training & workshop shows your team humor's impact on prospects, how jokes work, and what they can learn from stand-up comedians.
It's followed by a team-building, breakout session where reps collaboratively craft humor by re-framing prospect pain & core sales messaging. It all ends with an "open mic" where we evaluate what will make your prospects laugh!
Benefits: Sneakily re-enforces sales messaging, strengthens team dynamics, stimulates creative thinking & builds confidence.
challenge: Connecting with Prospects
Your prospects & customers are very distracted. In order to get their prospects' attention, sales reps are competing with devices, notifications, job demands & stresses. Making genuine connections in order to engage and build a true relationship is harder than ever.
Solution: PuncH Up THE Pitch!
Making prospects laugh (on a cold call, scheduled phone meeting, or face-to-face meeting) gets sales reps the attention they need to better relate, connect, and engage. Some feel "you can't teach funny", but your reps can learn to deliver a crafted joke much the same way they learn to deliver value propositions. I leverage my 12 years in sales & 7 performing stand-up comedy to help your team better understand prospect challenges, and craft relatable humor to enable better connections. I do this via a training & workshop or remote coaching & consulting. I'd love to be part of your an upcoming kickoff/QBR/day of training/retreat (I love relaxing settings!), customer appreciation or marketing event.
Who is this guy?
Jon Selig coaches business & sales professionals on how to make audiences laugh so they can better connect, engage, and influence. He's a far less serious in person than his copywriting leads you believe.
Jon received his BComm & MBA followed by a 12 year career selling technology (mainly for Oracle & an Oracle partner) before his career took a sharp left-turn in 2011, and he started performing stand-up comedy. In that time, he's performed at JFL Zoofest, The Comedy Nest's Young Guns of Comedy, and he's also also appeared in a segment on The Daily Show. He still can't tell you what databases do.
He's the founder of Comedy Abroad, a social enterprise which has helped 8 nonprofits in 3 Latin American countries raise $23K USD, with live English stand-up comedy fundraisers for travellers, expats, & snowbirds. His eyebrows demonstrate a lack of photoshop expertise.
He's worked with & spoken to sales teams at Zoho, CM Labs, Jellyvision, ProForce Personnel, and founders at incubators like The DMZ & JEDI. He's also spoken at the AAISP Leadership Summit, and to Austin's AAISP chapter. He's a comedian who will help you find the funny in your prospect's world. Contact him to make that happen.
